     The CXSU63034 is a highly efficient fix frequencysynchronous step-upBm3嘉泰姆
DC/DC converter. Output voltage of the device is adjustable. PowerBm3嘉泰姆
dissipation during operation is only 40μA typical and drops to less thanBm3嘉泰姆
1μA in shutdown. The 0.85V to 5V input voltage range makes the CXSU63034Bm3嘉泰姆
ideally suitable for single cell Li-ion battery, single or dual AA battery voltageBm3嘉泰姆
step-up applications. Automatic PFM Mode operation increases efficiency atBm3嘉泰姆
light loads, further extend battery life. Switching frequency is internally set at 1.2MHz, design for use of small value surface mount inductor, input andBm3嘉泰姆
output capacitors. The internal synchronous switchesenhance efficiency.Bm3嘉泰姆
Anti-ringing control circuitry reduces EMI by damping the inductance effectBm3嘉泰姆

1)General DescriptionBm3嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is a synchronous step-up DC-DC converter.Bm3嘉泰姆
It utilizes internal MOSFET switches to achieve highBm3嘉泰姆
efficiency over full load current range. It operates at aBm3嘉泰姆
fixed switching frequency of 1.2MHz, and uses theBm3嘉泰姆
slope compensated peak current mode pulse widthBm3嘉泰姆
modulation (PWM) architecture. The device canBm3嘉泰姆
operate with an input voltage below 1V and theBm3嘉泰姆
minimum start-up voltage is 0.85V.Bm3嘉泰姆
2) Current Mode Operation Bm3嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is based on a slope compensated peakBm3嘉泰姆
current mode PWM control topology. It operates at aBm3嘉泰姆
fixed frequency of 1.2MHz. At the beginning of eachBm3嘉泰姆
clock cycle, the main switch (NMOS) is turned on andBm3嘉泰姆
the inductor current starts to ramp. After the maximumBm3嘉泰姆
duty cycle or the sense current signal equals the errorBm3嘉泰姆
amplifier output, the main switch is turned off and theBm3嘉泰姆
synchronous switch (PMOS) is turned on. This controlBm3嘉泰姆
topology features cycle-by-cycle current limiting whichBm3嘉泰姆
can prevent the main switch from overstress and theBm3嘉泰姆
external inductor from saturating.Bm3嘉泰姆
3) Synchronous Rectification Bm3嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 integrates a synchronous rectifier toBm3嘉泰姆
improve efficiency as well as to eliminate the need forBm3嘉泰姆
an external Schottky diode. The synchronous rectifier isBm3嘉泰姆
used to reduce the loss condition contributed by theBm3嘉泰姆
forward voltage of an external Schottky diode. TheBm3嘉泰姆
synchronous rectifier is realized by a P-channel MOSBm3嘉泰姆
(PMOS) with gate control circuitry that incorporatesBm3嘉泰姆
