Internal Regulator iWe嘉泰姆
The CXSD61054   is a current mode step down DC/DC converter that provides excellentiWe嘉泰姆
transient response with no extra external compensation components. This device containsiWe嘉泰姆
an internal, low resistance, high voltage power MOSFET, and operates at a high 600KiWe嘉泰姆
operating frequency to ensure a compact, high efficiency design with excellent AC and DCiWe嘉泰姆
performance.iWe嘉泰姆

Error AmplifieriWe嘉泰姆
The error amplifier compares the FB pin voltage with the internal FB reference (VFB) andiWe嘉泰姆
outputs a current proportional to the difference between the two. This output current is theniWe嘉泰姆
used to charge or discharge the internal compensation network to form the COMP voltage,iWe嘉泰姆
which is used to control the power MOSFET current. The optimized internal compensationiWe嘉泰姆
network minimizes the external component counts and simplifies the control loop design. iWe嘉泰姆
Internal Soft-StartiWe嘉泰姆
The soft-start is implemented to prevent the converter output voltage from overshootingiWe嘉泰姆
during startup. When the chip starts, the internal circuitry generates a soft-start voltage (SS)iWe嘉泰姆
ramping up from 0V to 0.6V. When it is lower than the internal reference (REF), SSiWe嘉泰姆
overrides REF so the error amplifier uses SS as the reference. When SS is higher thaniWe嘉泰姆
REF, REF regains control. The SS time is internally fixed to 1 ms.iWe嘉泰姆
Over-Current-Protection and HiccupiWe嘉泰姆
The JTM2234 has cycle-by-cycle over current limit when the inductor current peak valueiWe嘉泰姆
exceeds the set current limit threshold. Meanwhile, output voltage starts to drop until FB isiWe嘉泰姆
below the Under-Voltage (UV) threshold, typically 30% below the reference. Once a UV isiWe嘉泰姆
triggered, the JTM2234 enters hiccup mode to periodically restart the part. ThisiWe嘉泰姆
protection mode is especially useful when the output is dead-short to ground. The averageiWe嘉泰姆
short circuit current is greatly reduced to alleviate the thermal issue and to protect theiWe嘉泰姆
regulator. The JTM2234 exits the hiccup mode once the over current condition isiWe嘉泰姆
removed. iWe嘉泰姆
Startup and Shutdown iWe嘉泰姆
If both VIN and EN are higher than their appropriate thresholds, the chip starts. TheiWe嘉泰姆
reference block starts first, generating stable reference voltage and currents, and then theiWe嘉泰姆
internal regulator is enabled. The regulator provides stable supply for the remainingiWe嘉泰姆
