Internal Regulator Rez嘉泰姆
The CXSD61054 is a current mode step down DC/DC converter that provides excellentRez嘉泰姆
transient response with no extra external compensation components. This device containsRez嘉泰姆
an internal, low resistance, high voltage power MOSFET, and operates at a high 600KRez嘉泰姆
operating frequency to ensure a compact, high efficiency design with excellent AC and DCRez嘉泰姆
performance.

Error AmplifierRez嘉泰姆
The error amplifier compares the FB pin voltage with the internal FB reference (VFB) andRez嘉泰姆
outputs a current proportional to the difference between the two. This output current is thenRez嘉泰姆
used to charge or discharge the internal compensation network to form the COMP voltage,Rez嘉泰姆
which is used to control the power MOSFET current. The optimized internal compensationRez嘉泰姆
network minimizes the external component counts and simplifies the control loop design. Rez嘉泰姆
Internal Soft-StartRez嘉泰姆
The soft-start is implemented to prevent the converter output voltage from overshootingRez嘉泰姆
during startup. When the chip starts, the internal circuitry generates a soft-start voltage (SS)Rez嘉泰姆
ramping up from 0V to 0.6V. When it is lower than the internal reference (REF), SSRez嘉泰姆
overrides REF so the error amplifier uses SS as the reference. When SS is higher thanRez嘉泰姆
REF, REF regains control. The SS time is internally fixed to 1 ms.Rez嘉泰姆
Over-Current-Protection and HiccupRez嘉泰姆
The CXSD61054 has cycle-by-cycle over current limit when the inductor current peak valueRez嘉泰姆
exceeds the set current limit threshold. Meanwhile, output voltage starts to drop until FB isRez嘉泰姆
below the Under-Voltage (UV) threshold, typically 30% below the reference. Once a UV isRez嘉泰姆
triggered, the CXSD61054 enters hiccup mode to periodically restart the part. ThisRez嘉泰姆
protection mode is especially useful when the output is dead-short to ground. The averageRez嘉泰姆
short circuit current is greatly reduced to alleviate the thermal issue and to protect theRez嘉泰姆
regulator. The CXSD61054 exits the hiccup mode once the over current condition isRez嘉泰姆

Startup and Shutdown Rez嘉泰姆
If both VIN and EN are higher than their appropriate thresholds, the chip starts. TheRez嘉泰姆
reference block starts first, generating stable reference voltage and currents, and then theRez嘉泰姆
internal regulator is enabled. The regulator provides stable supply for the remainingRez嘉泰姆
